Pixel had three lovely kittens on January 3rd, 2025. As usual, Logan, the father, is denying responsibility, but we know better. The two boys are reserved, and the girl is being kept to replace Pixel when she retires.
If you’re wondering why it has taken us so long to post about this litter, well, there was some drama along the way and we’re only now getting around to updating the website.
A few weeks after delivery, Pixel developed a mastitis infection in one of her nipples and had a high temperature. The vet tried the normal antibiotics but they didn’t do the trick, so we had to take her to the emergency vet to stay for a couple of nights to get stronger antibiotics, regular infusions of fluid, and so on.
Pixel recovered, but while she was away we had to bottle feed her kittens every four hours, which meant setting alarms for the middle of the night to stay on schedule. When Pixel came home she had to be kept in a different room than the kittens for two weeks, because the antibiotics in her system might be transferred to the kittens through her milk, affecting their development. So it was a rough couple of weeks.
However, along the way, we captured this video of how the kittens would wiggle their ears while they ate. We thought they looked like Yoda, so we named them after three members of Yoda’s species that have been seen in Star Wars movies or TV shows.
